Privacy Policy

Effective: September 10, 2026 · SourceCopy 1.0.0

SourceCopy processes selected grok.com conversation text and available source information locally, only to create the clipboard output you request. It does not send this data to the developer or any third-party server.

Purpose and scope

SourceCopy has one purpose: on grok.com, append available source links to a user-requested copy and let the user batch-copy selected conversation messages. It does not operate on other websites. SourceCopy is an independent extension and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by xAI or Grok.

Data handled

SourceCopy does not intentionally collect names, email addresses, account credentials, payment data, precise location, health data, or authentication tokens. URLs containing credentials or common secret-token parameters are rejected.

How data is used and retained

Conversation text and source metadata are processed in the current tab's memory and written only to the device clipboard after a user action. Temporary source data is cleared when SourceCopy is disabled, the page reloads, or the tab closes. Preferences remain on the device until consent is withdrawn, the extension is removed, or browser data is cleared.

Sharing, sale, and remote code

No analytics, advertising, sale of data, profiling, developer server, or remote code is used. SourceCopy does not transmit handled website content to the developer or third parties. It only reads data already delivered to the grok.com page and does not make additional content requests.

Permissions

grok.com access is required to identify the response the user copies and its available source metadata. Storage is required only for consent and feature preferences. These permissions are not used for unrelated purposes.

Your controls

Nothing is processed until consent is granted. The extension can be disabled or consent can be withdrawn from the popup at any time; doing so clears temporary in-tab source data. Individual source types and search-query details can also be turned off.

Security, changes, and contact

SourceCopy limits accepted URLs, payload size, and in-memory retention. If this policy changes materially, the effective date and extension disclosure will be updated before the changed processing begins. For privacy questions, use the developer contact shown on the Chrome Web Store listing.
